listening
I'm all about music these days. Book Two is about a middle-aged Girl Band. Some friends and I have formed a RGB (Real Girl Band) called Marmalade Superlove; we've even performed at one open mic already. I just started guitar lessons. I'm writing my first song.
Music has always been part of writing for me. I listen to music while I write. I spend hours creating playlists to accompany the moods I want for various scenes. My first novel's title, And She Was, is the namesake of a Talking Heads song.
In this second novel, I'm taking it a step further -- creating a novel soundtrack. I don't know how much of it will actually end up in the book as music rights are notoriously hard to get, but I'll do what I can. And I can certainly share my soundtrack here.
But first...
Marmalade Superlove's songs (we don't have recordings yet so these are by real rock stars).
I Wanna Smell Like a Bad Girl -- original song by bassist Kleveland
Jose Cuervo by Shelly West
Play that Funky Music White Boy by Average White Band
I need a Man by Eurythmics
Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin
Prologue Soundtrack

More to come...
